A stylish, branded welcome arrangement for a creative collective displayed on a slate-grey console table: a stack of custom foil-stamped folders reading “Show Ready Productions”, a glossy, minimalist brochure featuring abstract stage lighting imagery, and a small acrylic block holding a printed mission statement about collaboration and innovation. Beside them, a sculptural metal desk lamp with a warm Edison bulb casts a gentle, golden cone of light, creating rich reflections and soft shadows on the smooth surfaces. In the background, a blurred wall-mounted storyboard grid with neatly arranged cards and color swatches suggests active projects. Shot at eye level with a tight, horizontal framing, the photographic realism and clean aesthetic convey professionalism, exclusivity, and an invitation to join a refined creative community.

our Theatre Vision

Every company has a dream. Ours is a building. A flexible, affordable, 200-seat creative space — open to every local company, built for the whole community. Here’s what we’re working towards, and how you can be part of it

Vision

Where we’re going.

Every great company has a dream. Ours has a postcode — we just haven’t found it yet.

Show Ready Productions was built on the belief that great theatre should be accessible — to audiences, to performers, and to the communities that need it most. Our productions at the Crewe Lyceum have shown us what’s possible when ambition meets the right stage. But they’ve also shown us something else: there’s a gap. And it’s one that affects every local creative company in the area.

The Gap

Crewe and Nantwich has extraordinary creative talent. What it doesn’t have is a mid-size performance space.

The Lyceum is a wonderful venue — but it demands big, well-known shows to fill its seats and cover its costs. That means countless brilliant, smaller-scale productions simply aren’t viable there. The kind of shows that take risks. The kind that champion new writing, emerging talent, or lesser-known stories. The kind we’d love to make — and that local audiences deserve to see.

Below the Lyceum, the options drop away sharply. There is nowhere in the area capable of comfortably housing a production for an audience of around 200. That limitation affects Show Ready. It affects every amateur dramatic society, every youth theatre, every touring company that wants to come here.

We want to fix that.

The Dream

We want to build — or find and transform — a dedicated creative space for Crewe, Nantwich, and the surrounding area. A home for theatre, film, rehearsal, and creative collaboration.

We’re talking about a flexible performance space with a capacity of around 200. A venue that is:

  • Affordable — accessible to local companies of all sizes and budgets
  • Flexible — suitable for theatre, music, film, workshops, events and more
  • Inclusive — a genuine community resource, not a commercial operation
  • Ambitious — good enough to attract work, talent, and audiences from across the region

A rehearsal space where shows can be properly developed. A performance space where they can be properly seen. A creative hub where the next generation of local talent can grow.

This isn’t just Show Ready’s dream. It’s something the whole community could benefit from — and we want to build it together.

Where We Are Now

We’ll be honest with you: we’re at the beginning of this road.

The vision is clear. The need is real. What we’re still navigating is the how — the funding landscape, the grant applications, the partnerships and the pathways that turn an idea like this into bricks, mortar, and a stage with lights on it.

If you’ve been here before — if you know how arts funding works, how community building projects get off the ground, or how spaces like this come to life — we would genuinely love to hear from you.

How You Can Help

This is the part where we ask. Openly, and without embarrassment.

We are looking for:

  • Funders and grant-making bodies who support community arts infrastructure
  • Advisors and consultants with experience in arts capital projects or charity development
  • Local businesses and partners who share our belief in what culture does for a community
  • Individuals who want to be part of something meaningful from the very beginning

If any of that sounds like you — or if you simply believe in what we’re trying to do — please get in touch. Every conversation moves us closer.

The Bottom Line

We don’t have all the answers yet. But we know why this matters, we know what’s missing, and we know that the best things start with someone being brave enough to say: this should exist.

We’re saying it.
