Show Ready Productions proudly presented The Wedding Singer at the Crewe Lyceum Theatre, bringing the hit musical comedy to life with huge energy, heart, and plenty of 80s flair.

Based on the beloved film starring Adam Sandler, The Wedding Singer follows Robbie Hart — New Jersey’s favourite wedding singer — whose own life is turned upside down after heartbreak leaves him questioning everything he believes about love. Enter Julia Sullivan, a kind-hearted waitress planning her own wedding, and suddenly Robbie’s world becomes far more complicated than he expected.

Bursting with iconic 80s-inspired music, outrageous comedy, colourful characters, and heartfelt moments, the show quickly became one of the most talked-about local productions of the year. Audiences packed the theatre throughout the week, with Friday and Saturday performances coming close to selling out completely, and feedback from audiences and reviewers alike was overwhelmingly positive.

As Show Ready Productions’ first large-scale musical as a new company, The Wedding Singer marked a huge milestone — a bold £35,000 production created entirely through local passion, community support, and an incredible team both on and off stage.

Show Ready Productions’ debut production of The Wedding Singer received fantastic feedback from audiences and reviewers alike, being described as a “brilliant production” that brought “so much energy and fun.” Reviewers praised the company for “really doing the show justice,” highlighting the “flawless harmonies,” “slick scene changes,” vibrant choreography, and the incredible energy of the ensemble cast.
